Architect: Sakellar Associates
Developer: Pima County Library
Project Location: Tucson, AZ
Project Description: The Murphy-Wilmot Library addition and renovation was designed by Dino Sakellar, AIA. This structure was originally designed by Nicholas Sakellar, FAIA and constructed in 1964. Sakellar Associates was founded in 1956 and was one of the most respected architectural firms in the southwest providing innovative desert architecture. This library provides a wide-open visual environment which is protected by the harsh summer heat by broad floating planes. The defining element in Dino's vision is the north facing Collections addition which is a pavilion that completes the original concept perfectly and respectfully.

Contractor: FCI Constructors
Architect: Perlman Architects
Project Location: Buckeye, AZ
Project Description: Buckeye Fire Station #3 serves the Verrado Area of Buckeye west of Phoenix and north of Interstate 10. Buckeye was one of three municipalities in Arizona to receive stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Investment Act to allow for the replacement of an aging temporary station. The former station was a Caterpillar heavy equipment facility which was not fully suitable for a fire station in an area which has experienced significant population growth. My role was to define this Fire Station as a State of the Art 'Green' Facility which was designed to be within the Art Deco pallet of classical American fire stations.
