Project Architect: Allen + Philp Architects
Project Award: 2009 Gold Nugget Merit Award
Bridge Architect: Paolo Soleri
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
Project Description: Provide exterior photographs that define this redevelopment on the south side of the Arizona Canal between Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town Scottsdale. The mixed-use concept is composed of four structures which are connected by a public plaza with a pedestrian bridge to cross the canal and bridged alleys separating the buildings. The plaza, alleys, street and canal frontage evoke a European use of public space with patio dining and retail displays while the architecture provides an eclectic style reminiscent of an early 20th century warehouse setting in a contemporary world.

Project Architect: Douglas Fredrikson Architects
Interior Design: Studio 4 Design
Contractor: Lloyd Construction
Developer: Cottonwood Properties
Developer: Greenbrier SW Corporation
Developer: Ritz-Carlton
Location: Marana, Arizona
Project Description: Provide exterior and interior photographs to define the proximity and architecture of this world class golf facility. Settled into the south slope of the Tortolita Mountains north of Tucson, AZ this former Hohokam site and, most recently, Eugene Cayton homestead provides a definitive Sonoran Forest environment for the new home of the Accenture World Match Play Championship. The Architecture is evocative of its setting by embracing the profile of the mountains and expressing the wide open vistas with well defined interior views and outdoor patios. A stone structure which provided shelter to Cayton still stands on the property and was an inspiration for the material pallet of the clubhouse.

INTRODUCTION: Jim Christy Studio

Welcome to Jim Christy Studio. I am an Architectural Photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. For 23 years I have provided creative services for Architects, Designers, Builders and Professional Business Entities. The Southwestern USA is my territory and my goal is to increase my visibility within.

The purpose of this weblog is to draw attention to my website and current work along with previous significant projects which I have photographed over the years. I also plan to share my travel snapshots within this territory which are first impressions of places that made me slow down and turn around. Hopefully, I will be able to pursue these impressionable places again someday on a higher level.

Within this forum I hope to encourage a dialogue about Architecture and our history of settlement and development within the Western United States.

Thank you for your time and enjoy!

Sincerely,

Jim Christy
